Open Space Task Force
On July 10th, the Mayor’s Open Space Task Force met to discuss the following open space topics: Natural Areas, Green Corridors/Green Streets, and the Downtown. After presentations from Wade Crowfoot (Mayor’s Office), Moira McEnespy (Coastal Conservancy), George Williams (SPUR), Suzanne Whelan (FUF), and Greg DiPaolo (Park Presidio Neighbors), the Task Force broke out into groups to discuss topics ranging from the elements of a conservation plan for the Twin Peaks Bioregion to how to connect Golden Gate Park to the Presidio. The recommendations from the breakout groups will inform the final report of the Task Force.
In September, the Task Force will be coming out to the neighborhoods to garner input for the final report. Please stay tuned for dates, times, locations, and agendas.
Eastern Neighborhoods
After nearly ten years of analysis and planning, the Planning Commission initiated the Eastern Neighborhoods adoption process on April 17th. During this adoption phase, the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors have been holding public hearings to consider the various aspects of the Area Plans, Planning Code, and Zoning Map, and to decide whether to approve, change, or reject the proposals.
